To provide students with an immersive English learning environment, we try our best to arrange English-taught courses in blocks of time, so that they can get used to learning and communicating in English for a relatively long period of time.
Leveled English LibraryExtensive reading is one of the best methods for learning a language. TAS has an independent English library, which provides a wide variety of books that are leveled according to the different English proficiency of students. Now our school has more than 6000 English books, covering a wide range of areas, and the children have access to written knowledge in various fields according to their own interests.
English Language Learners (ELL)We provide supplementary language learning courses for students whose English is relatively weak. Due to the relatively weak language ability, some students may not be ready to learn some subjects (such as science, mathematics) in English for the time being. Therefore, TAS has set up ELL classes for each grade. Professional Chinese and foreign teachers will work to improve students' English proficiency in a targeted manner, helping them to leave the ELL class as soon as possible and join the main classes when they are ready.
IXLIXL is an online learning website that contains question banks for multiple subjects such as mathematics, science, and social sciences. It is one of TAS’ teaching aid systems. Through interactive games and exercises, IXL online learning makes problem-solving a happy and meaningful thing. At the same time, the website has an adaptive learning function, which automatically adjusts the difficulty of follow-up questions according to the students' answers.
Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) The MAP test is a standardized test used to assess students' English proficiency. MAP results give a personalized assessment of each child in the fall and spring of each school year. The assessment content includes English Reading comprehension, Grammar, and Mathematics. It accurately locates the level of each child's current knowledge through computer big data evaluation. It can also detect the progress of the children and track the growth of the children throughout the year or even over several years in our school.
